Turn-based fantasy board game Armello, currently in early-access beta and aiming for a September release, is also coming to the PlayStation 4.

A sort of Catan by way of Redwall with a whimsical Warcraft art influence, Armello has been in development for iOS, Android, Windows, Mac OS, and Linux for several years and has been well-received on the con circuit as a stylish mashup of card-and-dice board game, RPG, and strategy.

Developer League of Geeks promises “high end assets, redesigned UI and controls specifically designed” for the PS4. Based on new footage there are also volumetric weather effects, new lighting and shaders, and more refined character models. These visual upgrades will be in the game’s PC/Mac/Linux retail release as well.

The game’s latest teaser trailer shows off some of these improvements along with a new playable character:
