Update (10-29-15 at 1:15 p.m. Central Time):

Double Fine tweeted that Costume Quest 2 is now available on Xbox One and Xbox 360, with a Wii U version coming out tomorrow.

Original Post:

Costume Quest 2, the humorous RPG  from developer Double Fine, is coming to Sony’s PlayStation 4 and PS3 on Oct. 28 in North America.

These two console versions will also be featuring Sackboy, the main character from the popular, Sony exclusive LittleBigPlanet, as a costume. Costume Quest 2 will be sold at $14.99 on the PlayStation Network Store, but it isn’t available as a cross-buy title. A PS Vita version isn’t currently being developed, though Casey Lynch — vice president of publishing at Midnight City — said it could happen in the future.

“[W]e’ll be watching how the game does on home consoles, if people are into it and there’s enough demand we’d definitely really consider doing it,” Lynch said in the comments section of his blog post on The PlayStation Blog.

Costume Quest 2‘s story starts where the first game’s winter-themed Grubbins on Ice DLC finished — which has been an ongoing cliffhanger since it released in 2010. Twins Wren and Reynold will also be returning as the main characters.

The European release date for Costume Quest 2  is currently unknown, but will be announced soon. Costume Quest 2 released on Steam (PC, Mac and Linux) on Oct. 7. An Xbox One, Xbox 360 and Wii U version is also in development, but no release date has been announced.

We recently published a feature on the value of holiday themed games, such as Costume Quest.
