Calvino Noir, a newly announced heist title for iOS and PC is a game that boasts a rather unique premise.

Casting players as a sly thief on a heist to nab some shiny loot against a 1920’s noir setting, Calvino Noir places an expected focus on stealth and distraction as some heists require more than one thief to get the job done.

Aside from controlling a group of robbers, players are able to cooperate with themselves to solve puzzles and sneak past guards. This is achieved through recording the movements of one team member and then leap back in time to a particular point.

By doing this, players can control another thief while the first robber carries out the actions that were previously recorded.

“A player may have to distract a guard in one place so another player can sneak through,” designer Dan Walters elaborates. “In a more complex scenario, the player may need to tackle several guards at once so that no guard has the chance to trigger an alarm.”

According to Walters, the majority of the game’s conundrums will allow for a variety of different solutions too.

Calvino Noir is due to release on PC and iOS before the end of the year.
