Extremely competitive pricing, consumer friendly DRM policies and above all– A strong focus on playing games. While Microsoft touched on the intention of indie support, Sony set aside a big section of their conference to showcase loads of new indies debuting on consoles, exclusively on PS4 first. Don’t Starve Klei Entertainment’s Don’t Starve is a game about surviving as long as possible in a harsh open world. It has an art style right out of a Tim Burton movie and a deep resource based crafting system to keep you busy. Transistor Supergiant Games’s highly anticipated follow up to Bastion. Transistor is a sci-fi action RPG that follows a girl named Red and her special sword as she explores an atmospheric future city. Galak-Z 17-Bit’s Galak-Z may look like a traditional space arcade shooter but there is a lot more going on here than meets the eye. Galak-Z boasts impressive enemy ship AI, a vast explorable world and reactive real world physics. Mercenary Kings Mercenary Kings by Tribute Games is a retro side-scrolling shooter game similar to classics like Metal Slug. Up to four players can play co-cooperatively and the game includes a deep weapon crafting system. Octodad: Dadliest Catch Octodad: Dadliest Catch by Young Horses is just as weird as it sounds. It’s a fatherhood/life simulator where you have to negotiate the world using the physics of an octopus. Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty The Oddworld series is as old as the PlayStation one itself. New ‘n’ Tasty is an HD remake of the original Abe’s Odyssey made in the Unity engine by Oddworld Inhabitants. Outlast Outlast is a truly terrifying horror game by Red Barrels. A genuine creepy atmosphere paired with jump scares make this a game any horror fan should keep their eyes on. Like Amnesia? Try Outlast. Ray’s the Dead In Ray’s the Dead by Ragtag Studio, you play as a Zombie named Ray who has the power to raise other zombies back to life. The goal is to find out why he was killed and then brought back by solving puzzles and building friendships. Secret Ponchos Secret Ponchos by Switchblade Monkeys is an isometric action shooter game that truly captures the essence of old spaghetti westerns.
