When The Banner Saga 2 was first unveiled last year, Stoic (the game’s developer) planned for a 2015 release. But speaking with Eurogamer, the game’s publisher has pushed the game back into the first quarter of 2016.

Part of the reason for the delay may have been because of work on the console port for the first Banner Saga. The team has devoted extra time making sure the game feels right to play on consoles. However, they were also quick to point out that development on the sequel is still moving at a steady pace.

Other than Q1, the game doesn’t have a firm release date. Versus Evil (the game’s publisher) has said, “We will update everyone on its launch date when the timing is right.”
