The Digital Games Museum, an organization dedicated to preserving and studying the history and evolution of gaming, is hosting a fundraiser to help restore and present its vast collection of games and gaming artifacts.

Previously the Digital Games museum has presented at events like PAX Prime and the Maker Faire, and its current location is open to the public. Its exhibits include The Evolution of Console Controllers and The Rise and Fall of Adventure Games. The museum accepts donations of games, gear, and even gaming magazines, and offers other ways to donate, such as its adopt a game program.

The fundraiser is being hosted by Silicon Valley Gives, which is a nonprofit event that took place May 5 to raise money for various local programs, including the Digital Games Museum. The site is still accepting donations, however, and results of the campaign will be posted there. Donations can also be made to the Digital Games Museum through its website.
