Publisher Devolver Digital is giving the sequel to 2014’s re-mastered English release of sleeper visual novel hit Hatoful Boyfriend the same preening treatment, on PC, PS4 and Vita later this year. QMqJ93bxaMdB.878x0.Z-Z96KYq

According to the accompanying press release, Holiday Star will enable players to “travel to fantastically styled worlds, meet interesting new chickadees, find romance in elegantly designed winter wonderlands and a new mysterious watercolor world. Dust the snow off your wings and take flight with both familiar faces and new friends in extraordinary adventures hatched from the whimsical mind of the series creator Hato Moa and Mediatonic.”

Holiday Star is a fully-fledged sequel to Hatoful, with four playable main episodes and six side episodes, and has been available in English since 2012.

“While we would have loved to create an all-new franchise with our friends at Mediatonic, investing $350,000 in bird motion capture gear limits our options,” CFO Fork Parker stated in Devolver’s characteristically tongue-in-beak press statement.

This new addition to the Hatoful flock will be released upon an unsuspecting west in autumn of this year. For those who need a refresher, the Devolver edition of the original game is available on Steam and takes another flight on PS4 and Vita in the summer.

Bird puns.
